Maggie Pate's work in textiles explores the intersectional synthesis of textures, nature, and organic movement. Recently, she has been focusing on cultivating a studio that is 100% sustainable and eco-friendly by extracting color from predominantly food waste from local restaurants and farms. Her work with color capturing has culminated in her first book, The Natural Colors Cookbook (Page Street Publishing), which aims to make natural dyeing and sustainable color practices accessible to all. Her latest project Feed Weave, which provides custom fiber installations, advocates for slow craft and fighting food waste & hunger. Before this, Maggie was a fashion model before moving on to work for a label in New York City.
